Orientation Tulum Day 2 and 3

(recap of thursdays adventures that i forgot to mention: tulum ruins, playa del carmen, and kayak in cenote grande)

Friday, the group visited Sian Ka'an, a Bioreserve in Tulum. What we thought was going to be a couple hour adventure turned into whole day extravaganza! the ride to Punta Allen was just over 3 hours...the adventure in the laguna was 3, and the trip back...lets just say it was rough...very very rough. At the reserve, we saw sea turtles, a momma and baby dolphin, and indigenous birds. we also snorkeled in the laguna It was really cool...but was a long day

Saturday, our last day in Tulum, we traveled to Cóba where we biked through the site were able to climb one of the ancient mayan ruins...it was exhausting, but the trip was well worth it. the view was amazing, and who knows if i will ever have another opportunity again to do it. My bike, with no breaks, was named Rey Misterioso...i thought it was a pretty good one! hahaaa.

After leaving Cóba, we traveled to an amazing cenote (an underground or above ground pool of water where limestone sunk or caved in due to underwater rivers). This cenote, Multum-Ha (mayan for water) was about 5 meters below ground in a cavern. the water was extremely refreshing. the only downside was the lack of oxygen, so it was easy to get out of breath. Def one of the coolest places i have seen. the picture is not mine cause i forgot my camera in the bus, but here is what it looked like:
After the cenote, we had lunch in the Hacienda Teya. Afterwards, we arrived in Mérida where i met my homestay family: The Nuñez Riancho familia
